About Us

Our Story

Its a long story!

In our case, it’s the story of a little boy growing up in a city while longing to be a farmer and finally, together with the love of his life, buying a farm. It’s the story of hope, tears, fears, excitement, failure, success, care and love for our Earth. It’s the story of animals and plants, allowed to be themselves, being asked “how can I make you thrive today?” It’s the story of children coming to visit the animals, of walks in flower-filled fields with beautiful views, of getting cold in the snow and then having hot cocoa. It’s a story of honesty and wanting to provide you with a nourishing experience.

Taste.

Pizza in the back of a Tuscan village-bakery. The flavors are stunning. How can food taste this good? As the flavor-art enchants me, I become determined to restore flavor to our food at home in the United States. Hepatica Farm food: slowly raised on the green slopes of Eastern New York. Flavor is back.

Real.

The chicken breast in your pan is also a bunch of other things: antibiotics, estrogens, pesticides and who knows what else. Are you tired of being told that this cocktail of chemicals that you eat is chicken? We are too! And we are taking action. What you buy from Hepatica Farm is what we say it is. Chicken is chicken. Pork is pork.

And what we sell you in the future will be what we say it is. Nothing else.

Food.
